Whatever else my wife and I have going on in life, we are thrilled to devote most of our energy toward the care and cultivation of Providence Community Church. Alongside the rest of the leadership team, we are happy to serve Jesus in the midst of this sweet congregation — a people seeking to exemplify “Truth and Beauty in Community.”
A big part of my ministry burden has to do with helping pastors serve their local churches with joy, backbone, and excellence. The Shepherds Guild is the culmination of 30 years of thinking about the nature of preaching. It decomposes a pastor's own sermon archive into a rhetorical profile — theological emphases, illustration patterns, a preaching fingerprint — and sets it alongside the masters so preachers can grow in their own voice.
Sermon Steward is step one in building what I hope will become an obviously superior sermon hosting and dissemination platform. I don't know of anything else like it available to local churches — in my opinion, everybody should be using it.
I have the privilege of serving as chair of the Sovereign Grace Regional Church Planting Committee for the Midwest and Northwest, which encompasses 14 states — Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon — and has an estimated population of 54 million and growing!
